News, or What I’ve done this Summer, Part 2

August 15th, 2008

Whatcha been doin?

Part 2 of 4

Creativity

As a small start-up, I have to do a lot of the to-do items for Wonder Audio.  That’s okay, because a lot of it I really enjoy.  There’s a lot of room to be creative in starting a company.  Some people (like me in the past) think business has more with doing things by-the-numbers than with being creative and some things are.  But some of the tasks are just straight out fun.

Music

I got hooked on the producing audio side of things when I began to create music.  Some of it is played live and then looped to create a better sounding track.  I kind of got away from creating music when I started Wonder Audio and the Time Traveler Show.  This Summer I created five different demos using mostly off-the-shelf loops.  I’ve laid down some new guitar tracks to some of them this past weekend.  The work posted here is just a demo.  My project (i.e. Band) is called T minus 1, and I hope to have a CD out someday.  A lot of the music will be in the background of the Time Traveler Show this season.

Art

A big black hole of time is working on cover images for Wonder Audio.  A black hole of my choosing.  I really enjoy ”remixing” and “mashing up” the art for Wonder Audio titles and for TTS as well.  Here’s an example of taking an old pulp image and remixing for a Wonder Audio title.

Coloring B&W

Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time is color old magazine B&W interior art.  I’ve finally started working with a couple images.  The first one I did isn’t perfect (are they ever?).  I could tweak it some more, for sure.  But the point was to see if I could do it, and I do think it’s effective.
